What is it like working at Nordstrom, Inc.?
Fun, stressful, busy, gratis perks.
Counter Manager in Sacramento:

Cons: This position should pay more for the work expected.
The pay could be better.
Salesperson / Salesman / Saleswoman in Newark:
Pros: I love the work environment, the people and most of all the benefits.
Cons: I wish we got paid more.

Sheet Metal Worker in Winnipeg:
Pros: Profit sharing
Cons: Lack of work. Some days
Retail is personal. Commissioned sales generates stress btwn employees. Our daily job is rated making $ for Nord credit cards apps. Nord is trying to become an online presence resulting in employee fear&dissatisfaction.
Retail Sales Specialist in Minneapolis:
Pros: I like working in my hometown. I know my customers. I know what kind of customers they are. And my customers trust me because I have lived here my whole life and they trust my opinion because I know their lifestyle. Nordstrom still has an old school feel to it which is a fresh breath away from shopping online which young people and old people like both enjoy.
Cons: Because my store is slow there's a lot of downtime and a lot of my fellow players just stand around and talk. I'm working all the time but even My own boss who stands around and talks. That annoys me the most because this is a professional environment and I feel we all should be working. Most of the time there's a lot of gossip because there's too much downtime. But most of the time I thoroughly enjoy the company because it's so pretty and the people who work there because they're usually pretty nice and the customers because they know me.
Stressful but fun.
Department Manager, Retail Store in Dallas:
Pros: I enjoy the fashion and creative side
Cons: trying to deal with demanding customers and employees
Data Scientist in Seattle:
Most decisions at Nordstrom are firmly rooted politics and relationships, not data. It is rare for anyone to be actively judged by the quality of their work. Most data scientists are actually working on ETL/Data Pipeline projects, not actual data science work.
Avoid if you can.
Data Scientist in Seattle:
Pros: There aren't many expectations for you - your work output doesn't actually matter.
Cons: Most of our work is data engineering, we have very few data science problems.
