The Home Depot Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at The Home Depot Inc.?

While satisfying, its extremely stressful and underpaid.
Customer Service Specialist in Waterford:
Pros: I enjoy helping people and making the department better overall.
Cons: I don't like that most customers you must interact with are angry over something outside of your control.
Fast paced.
Sales Associate in Los Angeles:
Pros: Learning about several things you can take home and use for a project
Cons: The raises are the worst. After a year, you only get about $.33 raise increase and if the whole company raises the minimum up you loose your raise
Lots of customers, not enough associates.
Sales Associate in Las Vegas:
Pros: Teaching customers what to do How to do it
Cons: Pressure, because lack of associates. Low pay.
Interactive.
Retail Sales Associate in Austin:
Pros: I know what im doing and need very little guidance.
Cons: I dont have much help to complete the tasks set before me
It is stressful because you get interrupted all the time and cannot complete tasks efficiently.
Designer, Kitchen in Indianapolis:
Pros: Designing and executing kitchen’s for customers.
Cons: Being interrupted while I am trying to concentrate on a design or have a deadline.
Very stressful. Feel like I should get paid more, closer to what the supervisor makes.
Customer Service Team Leader in Upper Marlboro:
Pros: Vacation and sick leave
Cons: Everything else
Difficult without a motivated team.
Laborer, Freight, Stock, Material Mover, Hand in Pasadena:
Pros: My direct supervisor. I've had three in a year and a half with the company. Each had their advantages, the first would allow us to work as much overtime as possible when in season. The second was very helpful in maintaining my position at work during my divorce. The last and current supervisor can see how much work and dedication i put in and adequately rewards me for it!
Cons: Without my boss there to babysit the unload team about half of them are dead weight. People want to be paid to do nothing if they can get away with it versus being productive to make the time pass faster and get the job done
