XPO Logistics Reviews
What is it like working at XPO Logistics?
Good Experience.
Packaging Engineer in Raleigh:
Pros: I like working in the aerospace industry.
Cons: This XPO location is embedded in the customer, so the work environment is different than most other sites.
The strict packaging requirements on military contracts (and some commercial) restrict creativity.
Great place to work.
Operations Manager in Lebanon:
Pros: The people, the growth opportunities, and the respect given to every employee in the company. You feel like corporate genuinely cares about your personal happiness, not just your job satisfaction.
Cons: Peak seasons can be tough if you are the type of person who doesn’t thrive under stress.
Unappreciated by Upper Management.
Collections Specialist in Dublin:
Pros: I like the dispute resolution process.
Cons: Upper Management wants their billable numbers up so they release billing that has not met the customers requirements and then all of it is dumped on the Dispute Specialist to fix it. In the mean time we have customers who are annoyed that we promise we can set up their billing requirements the way they want but we never get a correct invoice out on the first billing. Very frustrating and not fair to the customer.
Expectations are not set equal for all supervisors.
Operations Supervisor in Allentown:
Pros: Potenetial advancements
Cons: All supervisors should be cross trained
Transportation Analyst in Grand Blanc:
The position starts with a temp agency at an embarrassingly low wage. When I first started, I went in with the belief that hard work and dedication to the company would pay off. I exceeded all requirements for the role. However, it took a year to become an XPO employee after signing with the temp agency; this was considered “normal” at the time, though I (and fellow employees) were led to believe we would be hired in after 90 days. During the first year, no vacation or sick days were accrued and there were no paid holidays. Once hired in, the net pay was actually lower as an XPO (Menlo at the time) employee after medical benefits were deducted. I went another full year thinking hard work would pay off, and I essentially built an empire for the company with my innovations and improvements to the value chain. Over the course of five years, no matter what I have done for the company, my pay has only gone up 2.5 to 3% from the already top-low wage. I was told by my supervisors that this was better than most employees got.
I tried to negotiate my pay by going up the chain of command—supervisors couldn’t do anything, though they all agreed I was underpaid based on my performance. I skipped over the Operations Manager because (s)he was booked with meetings for a full month and I got tired of waiting, so I took advantage of the open-door policy at the very top, where I was basically told I should look for new positions elsewhere in the company. Here I am, five years and five later
No room for improvement.
Transportation Specialist in Flint:
Pros: The people are okay, if you want to work all the time they will let you.
Cons: Bad pay, no room to move up and get better pay. Constantly getting more and more work pushed onto you. Get treated like we are worthless knowing if we were not there that management would not be able to do our jobs. Constantly short staffed. Never get lunch breaks but they get deducted from pay. Have to work almost every weekend, and long hours all the time. No time for family or anything other than work.
Not bad just don't feel the work doesn't match the pay.
Material Handler in Lithia Springs:
Pros: Its consistant
Cons: Underappreciated
