What is it like working as a Cashier?

Hours of Normalcy punctuated by Chaos.

Cashier:
Working at Walmart is my first job and I've never wanted to be so out of it so bad, I've had experiences where I was almost terminated due to school related issues. Some of the managers are not really as professional as they seem. Even if you tell them firsthand that I can not come in a certain day due to a mandatory school event, I had orientation for my first year in college. Told me they would take the point off but never do it, and I almost was terminated for it too. They don't really care about you. They try to look for unrelated reasons to terminate you. One of my co workers (very lovable employee) was terminated because she forgot to pay for a water bottle she was drinking on the clock, they didn't warn her or give her a write up, just terminated her just like that. Another employee was terminated because he refused to push carts after a manager asked him. He was a cashier and he was in his 50's so it was understandable why he refused. I literally have anxiety about coming in most days because of the point system and the fact that a whole pandemic is happening! We should have a right to not be punished for not feeling safe at work without worrying about how much is in our paychecks bi-weekly and if we still have a job after we call out from not feeling safe.
