Delivery Driver Reviews
What is it like working as a Delivery Driver?
January 2021
It's good and enjoyable.
Delivery Driver in Johannesburg:
Pros: I'm close to family I see them every weekend
Cons: As they say it's world class city and I'm popular with it
January 2021
Peaceful Hell.
Delivery Driver in Edwardsville:
Pros: I like that I am able to have a very flexible and workable schedule, I like my coworkers and my manager.
Cons: The owner of the store is a very hard man to please, but he has his moments.
December 2020
Delivery Driver in Cleveland:
No set hours, no limit to the number of packages or stops they put on your truck for the day, work until you get it done, 10 to 11 hours, daily pay remains the same regardless of your number of stops, packages, or hours. Fed ex loaders don’t load your truck, they scan the packages and throw them into your truck - you have to organize the packages. I have never worked for bigger liars then I do now in my manager and truck owner - they give you nothing in writing - promise everything, give nothing. (Promised medical, matching retirement, paid days off, done by 3:00-3:30)
December 2020
Nice as its close to home.
Delivery Driver in Johannesburg:
Pros: Majority of people are friendly
Cons: People drive terribly on roads and roads are in bad condition
December 2020
Too much pressure and underpaid.
Delivery Driver in Durban:
Pros: Long distance driving and being away from the shop
Cons: Driving and offloading a truck at the same time
November 2020
Generally a place for business.
Delivery Driver in Johannesburg:
Pros: Most of the basic commodities are readilly available and cheap
Cons: Its too congested
November 2020
Doordash is a Hot Mess.
Delivery Driver in Pittsburg:
Pros: I like the independence to set your days and hours and to cancel them whenever you want. There's also the fact that you drive your own vehicle and are not required to wear any Doordash branded merchandise or company uniform while on the job.
Cons: There's not hourly pay, Doordash takes a portion of your in app tips, there are no insurance options provided by the company itself, they punish you for the poor performance of a restaurant or potentially falsely negative review left by a customer, you're not guaranteed any deliveries for the day, their market is oversaturated with drivers making it near impossible in smaller markets for serious drivers to make any real hours/money, and they do not directly compensate you for mileage, accidents while on the job, or money spent on company branded gear.
