Women funeral directors are not being paid as much as men with the same or sometimes even less experience.
Funeral Director/Embalmer in Silver Spring:
Pros: Hours of work are good without having to go out on night calls, work visitations or embalm in the evenings.
Cons: Sudden Change instantly to commission structures, new products being offered without formal training, management often not familiar with current merchandise and products being put out for the funeral directors to offer families, management often becomes out of touch with meeting families or making arrangements and this eventually effects the ability to empathize or understand frustrations of funeral directors working on the front lines. People in marketing and upper management levels often are not funeral directors and do not fully understand the occupation

Why haven't I moved on yet?
Funeral Director/Embalmer in Lexington:
Pros: The mostly positive interactions with the families that I serve. That is probably the only reason I stay there.
Cons: Management has terrible employee relation skills. Poor communications from management. Poor management. Little, if any "pats on the back." Much "jerking around" from other sister funeral homes doing non-professional tasks. Much favortism shown to certain co-workers.
March 2019
Funeral Director/Embalmer in Muskogee:
Pros: Close to home
Cons: Dean end for advancement
November 2018
Knoxville..., Mayberry with bad traffic?
Funeral Director/Embalmer in Knoxville:
Pros: I like working in Knoxville because it’s a larger city here in Tennessee, but it now to large, it’s still kind of a homie place
Cons: The traffic, the city planners are clueless
