Working in hilo.

Pros: It’s close to home I don’t have to travel an hour or 2 to go to work
Cons: Pay is lower compared to the west side of the island

On paper, this is a great place to work. The pay here is better than a enough places and the benefits are phenomenal. But the day to day with the unfairness towards certain employees is pretty bad. It's all politics. If you are a woman..especially a minority, you'll be overlooked. Alot of favoritism is shown here and not alot of growth. The amount of stagnation here is awful.
