Respiratory Therapist Reviews
What is it like working as a Respiratory Therapist?
August 2019
Great place to set foundation for learning, not helpful in moving hot.
Respiratory Therapist in District Heights:
Cons: No longer has a pension for employees, insurance price increases yearly, but coverage decreases. So short staffed, makes it difficult to get time off or plan any vacations.
June 2019
Tough but very knowledgeable.
Respiratory Therapist in Atlanta:
Pros: the learning environment
Cons: the pay, being unappreciated, and short staffed
April 2019
I love my job and have an excellent relationship with my patients. Recently, due to high turnover, I’m the only respiratory therapist and I’m just tired.
Respiratory Therapist in Waycross:
Pros: Have a lot of freedom to make my own decisions and my bosses are very understanding about needing time off sometimes to care for my sick parents.
Cons: Overworked and extremely underpaid. I even pay, without reimbursement , my phone bill. And I’m on call after hours.
March 2019
Great opportunities for learning.
Respiratory Therapist in Philadelphia:
Pros: There are always opportunities to learn new skills and there are always teaching opportunities. The experiences gained from this hospital are unlike any you would get from other institutions.
Cons: The institution itself does not always come across that it really values its employees, be that with compensation or other perks to remain with the hospital long term. They know they can turn over nurses and other ancillary staff easily, so the institution does not seem concerned with retention of senior staff. Which can become scary when most of the staff at the bedside is new and inexperienced.
March 2019
Pretty OK.
Respiratory Therapist in Boston:
Pros: Autonomy
Cons: The department is understaffed
January 2019
Respiratory Therapist:
Love where at work the teamork is incredible. The pay in the low end of average salary in Houston and you would need a supplemental employment to meet living expense as Houston cost of living has increased substantially.
January 2019
I love working in San Diego.
Respiratory Therapist in San Diego:
Pros: I have lived in San Diego my entire life. My family and friends live here.
Cons: Very expensive.
