Average Salary for University of Ghana Employees in Ghana

Pros: The name of the University gives you a privilege to maneuver and earn the respect as a healthcare giver. The problem is with the various departmental heads or units. I personally feel they intentionally delay our promotions. For instance, my promotion was due 6 years ago I was honored this year. Sort of wasting almost 5 solid years behind. When you are employed, you work for 4-5 years to earn a promotion when other credits have also been earned. But here I was after I had successfully fulfilled all credits, I had to be reminding them every passing year of my due promotion by filling out promotion forms . Sometimes it gets really frustrating. Also there's a point system to be earned before one can get an accommodation.

Cons: The delays, the salary and accommodation. I met the points system but still no where near being given an accommodation as a nurse. I always have to travel long distance to get to work because my salary cannot afford rents nearby the hospital or in town.
