Retail Assistant Manager:
Pros: I love working with people. On a daily basis I am able to meet customers who have a need and I have the chance to help them fill that need, whether it is simply finding an item in the store or as complex as helping them through the return/ replacement procedures of a manufacturer's claim policy. The same goes for my associates. I get to be friend, mentor, confidant, parent and coach to a number of great people.
Cons: The hours are long. I typically work 60 hours a week and I feel that when I leave there is too much work undone. We struggle to hire enough associates at all levels including management.
