U.S. Air Force (USAF) Reviews
What is it like working at U.S. Air Force (USAF)?
Pilot Conundrum.
Military Pilot, Jet:
Pros: Flying environment and comradeship.
Cons: Deployments and instability coupled with uncertainty.
Hectic.
Security Manager:
Pros: Helping people.
Cons: Owerworked mot enough tome to complete daily tasks.
Strong teamwork coupled with unbeatable benefits.
Avionics Technician:
Pros: Unbeatable teamwork, reliable service, and working with like-minded individuals to reach a common goal. Benefits and healthcare are also amazing.
Cons: Long hours and lengthy periods away from the family.
Work Hard, Play Hard.
Information Technology Specialist:
Pros: Able to get certifications and other schooling when needed at no expense to you unless you fail the course. Most of the time supervisors are willing to let you leave for appointments that involve family and can spare not having you with out making you take the day off.
Cons: High stress, high demand with budget cuts limiting people and resources available to help you and your co-workers. Sometimes it's hard to leadership to see the struggle because you and your team seem to still make ends meet.
Military culture and work flexibility.
Mechanical Engineer:
Pros: Allowed to introduce new solutions.
Cons: Somewhat limited promotions.
Looking for better opportunities.
Aircraft Electrician:
Pros: Being able to progress... Get things done. Self worth being the go to technician to teach and manage all personnel in my career field in my squadron.
Cons: How they promote people is what I dislike. They promote test takers rather than aircraft mechanics that work hard and get the job done.
Project Manager, Information Technology (IT):
Pros: Leading people, being challenged to learn new things, learning to be flexible.
Cons: Deployments, extremely long work hours, long periods of time away from family.
