Challenging.

November 2016
The true number of hours I work.
Charity Fundraiser:
Thoroughly research the charity before taking the job. Look at the trustees, the vision, the hierarchy, the targets.
July 2014
Charity Fundraiser:
Pros: The people.
Cons: Rejection from grantors.
December 2013
Charity Fundraising.
Charity Fundraiser:
Pros: The job is sociable and involves meeting lots of people from many walks of life. Coming up with ideas for fundraising events and engaging supporters allows you to be quite creative and there is usually alot going on. You don't have to be tied to a desk/computer all day.
Cons: I am overqualified for my job and I don't feel as though I am fulfilling my potential. I miss doing more challenging and engaging work and being taken seriously as a professional. Many people think charity work is all fun and games and don't realize that lots goes on behind the scenes. I am also underpaid. I knew that doing charity work would be less lucrative but I am seriously underpaid compared to others in this role and compared to my (only slightly senior) colleagues. I would like to be stretching my brain more and having more to learn and think about.
