What is it like working as a Clinical Psychologist?

December 2018
Fort Wayne Psychologist.
Clinical Psychologist in Fort Wayne:
Pros: I live here
Cons: Caste System in Mental Health is prevalent
July 2016
Consultation and liaison skills in fast paced environment.
Clinical Psychologist:
Make an effort to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. See challenges from multiple perspectives and set appropriate boundaries when needed. Consider using a systems model to address clinical issues including team dynamics.
December 2015
Peddling psychology privately.
Clinical Psychologist:
Pros: Helping children and their families. Since it's private and fees are high, many who come are invested in making a change. Unlike hospitals, you cam make a bigger difference on the child through the family aswell, rather than just your sorry time with them until their stable. You get to see the part where they really turn it around.
Cons: The feeling that you're being exploited. We're employees labeled independent contractors, offered minimal percentages of what we bring in for no given reasons. I can't actually determine my own hours or if I run a group inside or outside scheduled hours. I have to fight to not have cases outside the scope of my training put on my calendar. My "weekend" is broken up by a day of the week. Staff turnover is high.
