Hemodialysis Technician Reviews
What is it like working as a Hemodialysis Technician?
May 2021
Hemodialysis Technician in Denver:
I'll start with the good- I have been a dialysis technician with Davita for 6 years during time I worked in 5 states and 30+ clinics. The ability to relocate and have options to transfer is the only thing that kept me for so long. Working in California pay was fair and job requirements were achievable, but I found it to be quite the opposite in Colorado and Nebraska. Working short staffed is a common theme at all locations I have seen, I constantly was unsure if I was going to have a second tech come in and help me run a facility with TWELVE patients, all while maintaining your strict 15 min per patient intervals. I loved being a dialysis technician and taking care of patients, but constantly being nagged at about clocking in early or late is frustrating. In the past 6 years Davita has taken a terrible turn. They now have only businessmen making rules and regulations about things they actually know nothing about. I'm sorry if you have never dealt with a patients low blood pressure, or cleaning up puddles of blood from under the chair- then you have absolutely no right to set a precedent for clinics.
