Pay is not based on experience or knowledge of the job, but rather by if you have a degree or not (even if your degree is in a completely unrelated field). Pay raises and promotions are based simply upon who likes you and who doesn’t, and again has nothing to do with your experience, knowledge or work ethic. I have been in my position for 5 years and am making less than another employee with my same job title who had no previous experience or knowledge of the job, but was recommended by the employee who’s position she would be taking. I also trained this employee after she was hired with no experience or knowledge.
