Metrology Calibration Technician Reviews

What is it like working as a Metrology Calibration Technician?

March 2024
Metrology Calibration Technician in East London:
Pros: It used to give me a lot of time to study and develop in my career.
Cons: The work is limited to only repetitive work, with no space to use the softwares to their fullest capacity.
June 2022
Great place to work, great benefits, lower pay.
Metrology Calibration Technician in Raleigh:
Pros: I enjoy the freedom that comes with my job role, and enjoy the people that I work with.
Cons: Understaffing and underpayment makes you feel underappreciated and overworked sometimes.
April 2022
Low pay, High expectation.
Metrology Calibration Technician in Syracuse:
Pros: I don't, Syracuse is quite literally a garbage hole. It's just cheaper than my old home, Poughkeepsie. Legislation is terrible here and the city has really suffered from it. Highest rate of starving kids in this city and the pay is also reflective of that here.
Cons: People just want a dog to use and abuse 9.5 times out of 10. I got lucky with my current job.
February 2021
Technicians grab what ever gear needs to be calibrated on the shelf and they go to work.
Metrology Calibration Technician in Havelock:
Pros: Calibration. I feel very successful when I RFI a piece of gear
Cons: I love my job, there are no problems
September 2020
It is a nice experience but no facilities at all and low salary.
Metrology Calibration Technician in beirut:
Pros: I am gaining experience in ISO17025 accredited calibration laboratory
Cons: Yet it is near my home
September 2020
Greedy corporate.
Metrology Calibration Technician in Salt Lake City:
Pros: I love what I do, I enjoy it.
Cons: It would be nice if management and corporate had more faith in their employees and were more open minded to changes that are beneficial as a company. They need to delegate some responsibility for certain departments to the employees who are actual experts in those areas. The company gives too much control to certain managers who might not be qualified or fit the criteria for the job and are often the reason for issues but do not take accountability. Many supervisors or managers simply lack the education, no degree or real in depth related experience to oversee the work of those who do hold degrees. For example, Technicians should report to an engineer not just a semi-competent businessman. I also wish I had more time in the day to make my department and surrounding departments better, more efficient or cost saving. I have a lot of work and get dragged into many projects outside of my scope and rarely get recognized for those efforts in a way that is beneficial to myself. The manager often takes credit for individual employees accomplishments and efforts. He oversees these people but will takes credit for their ideas and accomplishments. It doesn't feel great.
July 2020
Good times, bad times.
Metrology Calibration Technician in New Port Richey:
Pros: I stay super busy. There is always a lot of work to do. It makes the day go fast.
Cons: I don’t always feel like I’m being heard.
