Senior Attorney:
Satisfaction rating mostly comes from the benefits and the people on my direct team. The higher management levels have a lot of ineffective people that somehow both micro-manage and also never make decisions that are part of their job. Lower level employers are left without power or answers, much of the time, to respond to issues which come up every day. The result is a lot of matters stay in limbo for long time periods while lower level employees have to deal with the consequences of these delays and inaction. Kind of typical bureaucracy.

The policy of SpokAne County is to depress wages, especially for professionals who are engaged in the essential service of criminal justice. Compensation commensurate with other counties in Washington State is reserved only for the County Commissioners and upper management. The prosecutor’s office for example cannot recruit attorneys and support staff due to their deplorable compensation philosophy. The Human Resources department exists solely to reinforce this philosophy.
