Senior Auditor Reviews

What is it like working as a Senior Auditor?

June 2016
Work flexibility and team work.
Senior Auditor:
Pros: I gain self esteem and gain satisfaction from work when all is finished and when being reviewd.
Cons: Working overtime and some have to balance with school work.
November 2015
Pretty awful, depending on environment.
Senior Auditor:
Pros: Flexible hours.. Can schedule doctor's appointments and such at any time, and make up the missed hours later with no problem.
Cons: Stress levels through the roof, due to poor engagement management. Too many clients, too little staff. Poor structure of audit teams (no regard to skillset of assigned team members or need based on complexity of the audits). Constantly have a backlog due to not enough time scheduled for audits.
October 2015
Lots of expectations but little reward.
Senior Auditor:
Pros: The fact that I am challenged every day and am always learning something new.
Cons: I feel that there is a lot expected of me but that we aren't rewarded for that.
October 2015
Constant Learning.
Senior Auditor:
Pros: Daily learning of all aspects of accounting.
August 2015
We are all human.
Senior Auditor:
As an internal auditor, you will be developing an opinion of how well people are meeting their objectives in business. If you aren't too keen on evaluating others or can't communicate opinions in a positive manner, this area will be pretty hard for you. Also, always remember that we all put pants on the same way. Even if you are talking to a VP, or a Staff Accountant, they are human, they have value, and they do know what they are talking about. Learn from them, and then use the knowledge to get your work done. Don't jump to any conclusions. Lastly, the hours are varied. There are feasts and famines when it comes to the hours we put in. Sometimes, when we are trying to meet a deadline, we can put in quite a few hours. Then, there are times where an audit gets pushed back and we get some hours where we are a little light on the workload. It all varies.
April 2015
