Put in the " due diligence" to be sure the costs for labor and material are accurate to maintain margins.

Skills required.
Senior Estimator:
Having good analytical skills will greatly help in becoming the go to person in the company, that can think outside the sphere of a normal estimator, which can often be just a quote collector. Unfortunatley when you demonstrate more skill and initiative than your managers, there can become a resistance from above to change and inovation. You will need to find a path around that problem if you are to continue to develope.
