Punch Press Operator in Anderson:
Pros: It keeps me busy and I enjoy figuring things out on my own
Cons: Due to insufficient maintenance of trumpf punches and lasers, operators on 2nd have to work much harder than they should to keep
machines running. There is no maintenance crew on 2nd so operators must learn how to fix things themselves. Operators have to operate 2 punch presses. Build all tools, load material and check part via blueprint. I’m lead on 2nd and often have my hands so full I cannot possibly get done what needs to be done. Constantly understaffed. The turnover rate is ridiculous in the punch department
