Value Village Inc Reviews

What is it like working at Value Village Inc?

Inflation requires a higher livable wage.
Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Kitchener:
Pros: Interactions with customers and fellow staff. I like that we keep trash out of landfills and find great stuff at discounted prices
Cons: They don’t honour your raises when the minimum wage goes up, and raises are based on how much more tasks you’re able to do, rather than the quality of work you were hired for.
Would not recommend.
Operations Supervisor in Ottawa:
Pros: The staff I work with is what keeps me coming to work every day. We all work incredibly hard to drive sales and make quotas.
Cons: - The company does not invest in loss prevention enough. Hundreds of dollars just walks out the door every single day. As a management member is is EXTREMELY frustrating to see theft happen and not be able to stop it. - Customs are verbally and mentally abusive to cashiers and management but we are expected to smile and provide the best customer service above all else. There have been moments I have considered seeking therapy just to deal with the amount of stress being a supervisor has caused me. - many management people work an extra 2-3 hours a week just to catch up on work we dont have the time to complete within our 8 hour shifts. - You are expected to do the work of 3 people. The company likes to say everyone needs to be "efficient" but "overworked" and "burnt out" is more appropriate.
Time filling but great.
