Mercy Hospital Reviews

What is it like working at Mercy Hospital?

I make a difference.
Patient Care Associate in St. Louis:
Pros: Making a difference in my patients and their families stay. I personally like to bond with each and every person.
Cons: Co workers (most) have little to no respect for other coworkers time nor do they have respectable work ethics. Having said this, 1 person could get written up for being 1 minute late while others get away with daily tardiness and long breaks. Not everyone is held to the same standard.
Training programs should be offered for cross training.
Hospital Unit Clerk in Springfield:
Pros: Interaction with patients, families and co-workers as a team.
Cons: Being expected to know assignment too the fullest on each unit, being as they are not all run the same way.
Terrible Pay - expensive health insurance.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Albuquerque:
Pros: I love working as a nurse and making a difference in patients' lives
Cons: Mercy hospital gave new grads a huge pay increase to stay competitive. As a nurse with 2+ years experience I am making less than a new grad even if I am a preceptor for them.
All the work while RN keep getting raises.
Surgical Technologist in Baltimore:
Pros: 32 hours is considered full time, I have set day off that I provide daycare for my grandsons, and bc I work mid shift I don’t have to take call
Cons: There are too many things to list that’s why am on this website mainly as with most Maryland hospitals they only seem to care about the circulating nurse not the surgical techs we are the ones doing all the hard work we’re standing the whole time we’re risking getting struck by needles or splashed were retracting or suctioning were the ones actively working the case there during computer paperwork but they get the retention bonuses they get the raises every six months they get whatever they want and they already make way more than we do and if you ask them what sutures do we need for a case they don’t have a clue they rely on us
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care:
Low pay. Ok benefits at best. Wish I had a easier patient load. Bad office politics. But some of the staff are great to work with. They took away our 401 k contribution for the year of 2020 lots of staff have quit. Wish things would get better.
Ok.
Patient Access Representative in Springfield:
Pros: I feel relieved when the firing sprees are over each year.
Cons: Firing sprees. Raises barely around 25 cents. MGMT always always in meetings.
Laboratory Manager in St Louis:
Very good system in regards to care and respect for the patients entrusted to their care. However, they need to improve upon salaries for ALL professionals. Minorities especially. For the role I was being paid- I was underpaid by 25k compared to others who previously held my role. Minorities throughout the organization are harassed but yet they claim to have a great diversity and inclusion department.
