What is it like working at American Electric Power (AEP)?

Less than spectacular.
Lineman in Copan:
Pros: Mostly left alone to schedule and complete my work orders as I see fit
Cons: Understaffed and expected to work unreasonable amounts of OT as a result.
Stressful, a lot of Responsibility and accountability.
Field Service Technician in Ashland:
Pros: Successfully completing a job without incident. Also the freedom to plan my work
Cons: The stress, not enough employees to do the work, pulled in different directions
Family Oriented.
Lineman in Corpus Christi:
Pros: This place has some real good guys. Safety over production which can be tough to find in this trade. They want to slow down and teach new guys the right way. Great benefits, great people. A company you can comfortably spend decades at.
Cons: Non-union should be union company-wide. Not a huge deal.
Electrical Engineer in Tulsa:
Pros: Culture. The idea of safety is embedded into work and outside of work. Employees care about each other like a big family.
