American Medical Response Reviews
What is it like working at American Medical Response?
Corporate machine.
Paramedic in Pueblo:
Pros: The once-in-a-while thrill of being involved in a 911 call where a patient needs true help and I provide true medical intervention.
Cons: Running the usual 20% of “frequent flyers” 80% of the time, for barely more or maybe even less than fast-food cashiers make.
Exciting, different night shift.
Paramedic in New Britain:
Pros: My ability to help others and training next generation of medical staff
Cons: Equipment failure.constant
I love that AMR helps people in their most vulnerable time.
Police, Fire, or Ambulance Dispatcher in Phoenix:
Pros: I love being able to help others
Cons: I'm tired a lot of the time
Literally the worst.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic in Oklahoma City:
Pros: When I clock out.
Cons: My mental health is in the toilet, I never see my family, I work a minimum of 48 hours a week and still can't pay our bills, the insurance sucks, new management is horrendous, I can go on forever.
Data Entry Specialist in Las Vegas:
I have been with AMR for 3 years and enjoy working here. I started off as a Pre Biller where I am now the Executive Admin Assistant to our Regional Director. AMR is my second home and I enjoy working with the people I work for as well as all the incentives that the job offers.
Administrative Assistant:
Every day is very different. I handle many aspects from arranging meetings, to acting as a liaison between my boss and external and internal contacts, to many forms of project management, and numerous routine administrative functions. During my 10 years with AMR I have had the opportunity to work for several months in the Billing Department and gain knowledge of how the Pre-Billing Specialist position operates. In addition, assisted the Business Development Department and worked for several weeks as the Special Events Coordinator for San Bernardino County.
Working for AMR has exposed my internal desire for setting higher goals for myself and gave me the drive to become a stronger employee. I am currently a full-time student at the University of Phoenix working on Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a Certificate in Human Resources.
