Decent Work, Low pay, High Turnover.
Waste Water Plant Operator in Silver Spring:
Pros: Management cares, Benefits outside of your paycheck are good, and you definitely make a difference. tons of room and opportunity to grow, as long as you stick with it.
Cons: Underpaid, and chronic understaffing. Expect to do work outside your job title. Expect high stress and long hours due to high turnover. If a sites fully staffed and trained up, its GREAT, but the moment turnover spikes, its awful.
When everything is good its good at any mistake it comes down pretty stiff at times.

Cons: Pretty dirty
Hard, stressful work.

It’s enjoyable work, with safety in mind. There’s a lot to learn and focus on, but the companies focus is on safety first. So planning task before handling them is a priority. Since I have been with the company, I have recieved a raise in pay, as well as a $500 bonus for adding a safety measure to one of my job task at work.
