George Mason University Reviews

What is it like working at George Mason University?

College!
Office Manager in Fairfax:
Pros: The intelligent and daily interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
Cons: The office politics and inadequate management/leadership training.
Ok company- no path to advance.
Financial Analyst in Fairfax:
Pros: I work with good people
Cons: There is no path to advance and staff are treated as less important than faculty
Administrative Coordinator in Centreville:
Lots of great paid time off benefits and healthcare. Terrible pay and almost no upward mobility. Managers are hit or miss and departments are very decentralized so management differs greatly. Raises are almost never a thing out of merit and do not keep up with the rate of inflation.
Underwelming.
Administrative Coordinator in Centreville:
Pros: Flexible time off, good health insurance, Holidays, and lots of paid time off.
Cons: Raises especially based on Merit do not happen and there is no transparency on how to get raises or how to have upward mobility.
The work is okay but the paid could be better.
Electrician Journeyman in Culpeper:
Pros: the people do try to work In union with each other
Cons: The good old boy system
