National Vision, Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at National Vision, Inc.?
Optical.
Optician in Harker Heights:
Pros: I have the best coworkers and we all value taking care of the customers.
Cons: We get overrun as staff in the store, with management unavailable.
Great Work Environment - Lacking in Pay.
Optician Apprentice in Kathleen:
Pros: I love the customer interactions, helping customers select frames and working with them to find glasses/contacts that fit their needs and budget. I also love the team of people I work with, it is very close. Everyone is very nice, and the management at my particular location is wonderful.
Cons: I think the pay is lacking. I have quite a bit of customer service experience and at my previous 3 jobs was making $11-$12 an hour. Here I am only getting $10.50. We only get raises once a year and our "commission" aka PIP is only 1%. I am great at sales, one day I did over $3k, it was 40% of the stores sales for the day with a team of 5 sales people. Yet, since we only get 1% I only got $30 from that. I feel as though my fast learning and great sales aren't being recognized since I won't even be considered for a raise for another 8 months.
I work with a lot of amazing people and we're building a team atmosphere. It's a lot of hard work but, it's paying off.
Production Supervisor, Manufacturing in Salt Lake City:
Pros: The people I work with.
Cons: Low Pay
Optometric Technician in Fort Collins:
I was bullied and discriminated by this company. This lead me to report it to the EEOC and I was told I did not have a case for discrimination and they could not do anything about the bullying. The very ones that stand against bullying are the very ones that are bullying to cover up what they're doing. I still have in my possession a journal and other documentations provided by the office on my evaluations.
Great Company but needs more people focus.
Human Resources (HR) Coordinator in Duluth:
Pros: Relationship with field staff and the opportunity I've been giving to learn more in regards to other scopes of jobs on my team
Cons: Little to no growth opportunities and lack of independence
Helping customer get a quality pair of glasses and fitted properly.
Licensed Dispensing Optician in Navarre:
Pros: Working with the Military people
Cons: long hours per day
