UT Physicians Reviews
What is it like working at UT Physicians?
Radiologic Technologist in Houston:
Individual clinics work in silos, with very little standardization across the network. Management is at the mercy of the physicians, leading to long hours for medical assistants, registration, and ancillary staff to accommodate physicians adding on patients when they are not scheduled for clinic, or seeing patients outside of normal clinic hours with little or no notice. This type of culture also means that when changes are made it usually results in more work for non-provider staff to avoid inconveniencing providers. Teams have difficulty finding coverage and hesitate to use the temp agency, so staff is often asked to do more with less. As a technologist in this clinic setting, you will not have anyone in management that understands medical imaging and be able to well represent that portion of the team. The network does not have any imaging management, so technologists are not well-represented in leadership conversations unless you take on the extra responsibility to teach your managers or represent yourself. Benefits may be competitive, but salary is not.
Good job to start with in medical field.
Patient Access Representative in Houston:
Pros: the people i worked with and the care we would give to patients.
Cons: no advancement to move up
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Houston:
Negative atmosphere in my department.Took the job because I had previous state time and I like insurance. Was so happy to back on with the state .Usually do my reach before I take the position, not realizing this department has very high turnover rate.I find hard to believe HR has not taken a look into the department.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Canton:
UT Health East Texas your coworkers will become your family. Compensation could improve. Management has been a rotating door for the past year. Insurance costs has gone up yearly but I’m happy we have it.
Clinical Coordinator in Houston:
Somewhat satisfied. There was a bit of personal evaluation not based on job performance. Raises were based on these evaluations. The supervisor and her superior sometimes did not agree on evaluations.
Lots of freedom.
Senior Systems Analyst in Houston:
Pros: setting my own schedule
Cons: lack of communication with management
