You are an outsider to all other departments and seen as an additional unwanted extra cost to a business. You don't make money for the organization and therefore are seen as an annoying 'must have' expense for the business. You are lucky if you find a business owner who values you. If you have a quiet personality and just want to keep your head down this is the job for you.

Continue To Learn As You go, Especially New Software.
Bookkeeper:
Make sure you know what the main scope of business is for the company you are working for. It makes it much easier to know how to present the financial data. Also continue to learn new software and laws.
