What is it like working as a Product Manager, Software?
November 2013
It takes more than you think to build a startup
Product Manager, Software:
Right now things are easier for me because my business was established and ultimately bought out. But truthfully, it takes a decade of hard work, and as a startup owner you're often underpaid. Don't get me wrong- it's great to run your own business. But with salaries as they are in Silicon Valley, you can make about as much in a much more stable position by moving. Nobody thinks it will take 10 years to get their startup acquired. But it takes a long time. I know very few startup founders who even survive long enough to be bought out.
