Restaurant Manager Reviews
What is it like working as a Restaurant Manager?
September 2017
Very challenging. Not many applicants to chose from. Often u.
Restaurant Manager in Acton:
Pros: The people that I work with. Fast pace. Able to book time off when needed. Live 5 mins away from work.
Cons: Often understaffed and not many applicants to hire from. Customers are very rude and obnoxious. They don't realize how hard we work and that we are trying our best to meet their needs. I would never in my life treat a person the way we are treated daily. And we are expected to just deal with the rude, condescending attitudes. Also having to works nights and weekends.

Caring is the difference between good and great.
Restaurant Manager in Toronto:
"Caring about the experience of the customer" is a time-worn phrase, I suggest instead you focus on your own experience. If you treat each shift in the dining room as an event at your home attended by a mix of friends and strangers, you can invest yourself in both the pride of the house and its offerings, and in the experience each diner has that evening. When people are at your home you want to put your best foot forward - offer your favourite and best food and drink, offer your best chair, put on music you love, turn the lights down and light some candles. Check in to see if anyone would like a drink, dessert, to try a little after-dinner liqueur or just a coffee. And talk to people, learn not just what they like about your offerings, but what they don't, then learn what they do and why they do it. People will surprise you and make your night interesting.

Lots to do, close to beach.
Restaurant Manager in Tampa:
Pros: I moved here for the weather and the beach, and Tampa Bay area really delivers. I live across the bay in St. Petersburg, which has beaches, lots of nice bars and restaurants, and it's practically summer all year round.
Cons: The traffic in Tampa is terrible.

Toledo good and bad.
Restaurant Manager in Toledo:
Pros: Toledo is a growing town so there is room for development.
Cons: Pay is low due to low cost of living. Leaving the city is daunting as what you make in Toledo is not going to prop you up financially in another part of the country.
